Each
week, on Mondays through Fridays, HSVB&IRC operates an Animal Wellness Clinic
at our Adoption and Education Center in Vero Beach. This special service
focuses on preventative care, according to Ilka Daniel, HSVB's Director of
Animal Protective Services, who explains, "When we can keep pets healthy, we
keep them where they belong - at home with their families."
Of course, the Animal Wellness Clinic also provides «spay/neuter
procedures» for animals. "Perhaps our most important service is a
simple, affordable way to have pets spayed and neutered," explains Daniel.
"By controlling the pet population, we truly impact the quality of life for
the animals we love."
You
can «download a brochure»
which lists our services and the fees associated with each procedure.
Remember, prices are subject to change without notice.
HSVB&IRC cautions everyone that the Animal Wellness Clinic is not a
substitute for a close relationship with «a
local veterinarian». "Everybody still needs to have a
veterinarian-patient relationship for their animals in case of illness," adds
Daniel. "But we believe that the preventive care we can provide through the
clinic will go a long way in keeping our pets healthy."
HSVB's Animal Wellness Clinic is open to anyone needing our services - not
just residents of Indian River County. But, Indian River residents who can
demonstrate a financial need can receive financial assistance through the
generosity of shelter supporters who are committed to healthcare for animals.
