Whether you stay or go, follow this emergency pet supply checklist:

Start Preparations Now
- Prepare a “go” kit for your pets with a two-week supply of food, water,bedding, towels, medical supplies,leashes and toys.
- Vaccinate all pets and make sure licenses are current.
- Have your pet microchipped and registered. Pets adopted from our Shelter are microchipped and registered with our shelter.
- If you evacuate, pre-arrange for you and your pets to stay with friends,family or at a hotel. The pet friendly shelter should be used as a last resort.
- If you must board your pet, select a facility that is not in an evacuation area or flood plain, is a safe building and where pets will be attended throughout the storm.
- Keep pet carriers handy in the event of evacuation.
- Place several I.D. tags on your pet’s collar, including temporary tags with phone numbers of friends and relatives who live outside your immediate area.

- Properly-fitted collar bearing pet’s current license and identification tag
- Leash
- Portable crate/carrier for your pet
- Food and water bowls
- Two-week supply of water and pet food in a watertight container (and a manual can opener if the food is canned)
- Up-to-date health records including a recent photo of you with your pet
- Your pet’s medications - at least a one month supply
- Cat litter pan with cat litter and/or newspapers, litter scooper, and plastic bags for feces disposal
- Toys and healthy treats and towels
- First aid supplies
